“AEGEAN… I want to fly now!” is Aegean Airlines’ slogan, which appears to already be in the first choices of travelers. Aegean Airlines, the second private airline company in Greece, was founded in 1992 as Aegean Aviation by the businessman Nikos Simigdalas and offered air tickets and flights mainly to eminent people, because its fleet of Lear jets corresponded to their demands. In 1999 it spread its wings with the name - officially from this time forth - Aegean Airlines running flights to Athens, Thessaloniki and Herakleio.

Thus, in 2003 it provided an e-ticket service (incorporeal ticket) that allowed the immediate service of passengers right after issuing the air ticket. The company’s policy to offer, at intervals, a specific amount of air tickets to various destinations in really low price has been considered interesting. Aegean Airlines has been admitted to Athens Stock Exchange and the tens of Airbus planes are in cooperation with huge aviation companies, such as Brussels Airlines and BMI, an affiliated company of Lufthansa.
