Zurich

How to get there
From Greece there are direct flights to Zurich, leaving from Athens and Thessaloniki, the schedules are operated by Swiss. From other Greek cities (Heraklion, Chania, Rhodes, Corfu, Ioannina, Alexandroupolis) there are connecting flights via Athens and Thessaloniki. From Cyprus there are direct flights to Zurich only during the summer season with Swiss, there are also special offers for connecting flights with LOT, Austrian, Lufthansa, Czech Airlines and AirMalta. Zurich Airport -
Zurich’s airport has been voted as the best airport of Europe for its high specifications and the great quantity of services offered. It is located 10 kilometres outside the center of Zurich. In Zurich’s airport there is a post office, exchange offices, banks, a business centre (fax, telephone, and photocopier) and internet points. There are also cafeterias, snack bars, restaurants, shops, duty free shops as well as an entire commercial center. In Zurich’s airport there are even lockers and storage room for luggage. Moreover there is a medical center, pharmacies, conference facilities, services for people with disabilities, special areas for babies, travel agencies and of course ticket desks for air tickets. The transfer from Zurich’s airport to the city is done easily and comfortably by public transport (TVV) that has regular schedules from the airport.
Trains
There is a railway station at the airport (below terminal B) with trains that have services to the centre of the city (Hauptbahnhof) and various others central stations. Trains depart every 10 minutes and the journey to the centre of Zurich lasts 10 minutes. The ticket from the airport costs 10.80 Swiss francs, it can be used anywhere in the airport and it is valid for 24 hours. The tickets, apart from those purchased from the ticket dispensers, must be validated before embarkation. The trains operate from 05:30 to 00:00.
