How to get there
There are direct flights from Greece to Vienna, leaving from Athens and Thessaloniki. From other major airports in Greece there are also flights to Vienna via Athens. From Cyprus there are direct flights from the airport of Larnaca to Vienna, the schedules are operated with Austrian Airlines and from 28 March 2010 also with Blue Air. Airport
The Vienna International Airport (Flughafen) is located 18 kilometres from
the city of Vienna. It is a much frequent airport and it offers all the modern comforts
and services of a European airport. There are innumerable shops, restaurants, cafeterias,
travel agencies and of course ticket desks for air tickets at the airport. The transfer
from the airport to the centre of Vienna is done easily and comfortably by public
transport.
Trains
The airport’s trains (City Airport Train) CAT run a service from the airport to Vienna’s central station, Mitte, from where you can change line and transfer to your final destination. The journey lasts 16 minutes and the trains depart every 30 minutes. The ticket costs € 10 and there is a train from 05:38 to 00:05.
Buses
The airport’s bus lines run a service from the airport to the centre of Vienna and some other areas in the city. The journey lasts approximately 25–35 minutes.
