Kiev

How to get there

From Greece and Cyprus there are direct flights to Kiev leaving from Athens, Thessaloniki and Larnaca airports. More specifically Ukraine International (ex AeroSvit) operates 4 weekly schedules from Athens to Kiev and 2 weekly schedules from Thessaloniki. The airlines that carry out flights (direct and connecting) from Greece and Cyprus to Kiev are : Aegean, Ukraine International Airlines, Lufthansa, Alitalia,  Austrian, Lot, Aeroflot and Swiss, more specifically:


Athens – Kiev:

There are two international airports in Kiev, the International Kiev Airport Boryspil and the International Airprot Zhuliany (more information below). When making plans for a holiday trip to Kiev it is better to make a reservation as soon as possible in order to find cheaper air tickets. Many airlines promote cheap flights and announce special air ticket offers for reservations made 1 or 2 months prior the departure.

Boryspil Airport - Kiev 
Boryspil Airport is located 29 kilometres outside Kiev. The airport has cafeterias, bars, restaurants, banks, ATM machines, shops and of course ticket desks for flight reservations. Various buses as well as taxis connect the airport with Kiev.


Buses

Polit buses which belong to various companies and have different sizes depart from the airport and have the same route to Kiev. The buses depart from the parking area of terminal B and they have a service from the airport to Kiev’s railway station, from where you can use the metro and transfer anywhere you please. The journey lasts one hour and the ticket costs 2 €. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver.


Taxi

There are many taxis outside the airport’s exit areas in order to transfer travelers to the center of Kiev. However many of those taxis do not have taximeters, therefore if you choose a taxi for your transport, negotiate and set the price before boarding it. Keep in mind that taxis are quite expensive.
