Havana Airport Jose Marti

Havana’s Airport, Jose Martí International Airport is located 15 kilometers from the centre of Havana. The airport is quite big and has 4 terminals that are connected via an airport bus. Moreover travelers can find there bars and restaurants, information desks, exchange offices, a post office, bookstores, shops, a pharmacy, storage rooms for luggage and of course ticket desks for flight reservations. Most of the airports facilities, restaurants and shops stay open 24 hours a day. But the options for transfer from the airport to Havana are not many.

Unfortunately the buses in Havana are not very reliable and are almost never on time. There is of course a public line that operates from the airport to the city’s centre and departs from the exit of terminal 1 but its schedules are not regular.

Near the exits of terminals 2 and 3 there are many taxis that can transfer you to the centre of Havana. One of the most known and reliable companies is Panataxi whose drivers use a taximeter and it is probably the cheapest company. These taxis have a yellow colour. There are of course some more taxi companies that are also reliable but more expensive. The journey from the airport to Havana can last 20 to 30 minutes if there is no traffic and it can cost 25 pesos (approximately 22 € ).
