How to get there

There are direct flights from Greece to Barcelona leaving from Athens. From Thessaloniki and other Greek cities there are connecting flights with Aegean Airlines via Athens. From Cyprus there is also a  connecting flight via Athens, the service is operated by Aegean Airlines. The airlines that carry out direct flights to Barcelona are Aegean and Vueling, more specifically:

All the above airlines are landed at the International Airport of Barcelona - El Prat de Llobregat (more information below). When making plans for a holiday trip to Barcelona it is better to make a reservation as soon as possible in order to find cheaper air tickets. Many airlines promote cheap flights and announce special air ticket offers for reservations made 1 or 2 months prior the departure.

Airport
Barcelona International Airport - El Prat de Llobregat, which is located 13 kilometres from the center of Barcelona, is a busy modern airport, with 2 terminals and many comforts for travellers. In the airport’s premises you can find shops, cafeterias, restaurants, tourist offices and of course ticket desks for air tickets. It is incredibly easy to transfer from the airport to the center of Barcelona as well as comfortably and fast.


Trains
The
RENFE has a service from the airport to Sants,PasseigClot stations where there is a direct connection with Barcelona’s metro. The train station is closer to terminal 2 (T2) therefore if you are in terminal 1 (T1) and you want to go to the train station you can use the airport bus.
The train ticket costs €3.00 and the journey lasts approximately 25 minutes. A train departs from the airport every 30 minutes.


Buses
Aerobus
is an express bus line that has a service from the airport to the centre of Barcelona. A bus departs from the airport every 15 minutes. You can catch one of the buses that depart from both terminals (T1 and T2) and go to Placaor Placawhich are located in the city’s centre. The one way ticket from T1 (terminal 1) costs €5.00 and it can be purchased from the bus driver. The one way ticket from T2(terminal 2) costs €4.25 and it can be purchased from the bus driver or the ticket dispensers near the bus stop. The journey lasts 25-30 minutes depending of course on the traffic.
The Bus lines
46 and (the night bus) N17 have services from the airport to Barcelona and their tickets are much cheaper but there are fewer buses during the day.

Taxi
Taxis in Barcelona are not very expensive and they are definitely the most comfortable means of transport. There are always parked taxis outside the airport terminals. The journey to the centre of Barcelona lasts approximately 30 minutes and may cost up to €30.
